School Council Survey

The Millgrove School council is interested in your opinion!

Please return the questionnaire found on the last page of the June School Newsletter by June 22nd and your name will be entered into a draw for a family 4 pass to Parkland 7 Cinemas!

Reminders for Parents

  • absentee line number 780-962-6123. When leaving a message please be sure to leave your child's name, teacher's name, and reason for absence
  • In order for all staff to identify all adults in the school, and keep children safe, please remember to sign in and obtain a visitor tag.
  • In the morning, prior to the second bell, students should be using their assigned doors to enter the school, as the front door is for adults and guests
  • For the safety of all students, all medications must be stored at the office. an Administering Medication form must be filled out and signed by your physician before medication can be administered by the office. Please contact the office for more information
  • Please make home time arrangements with your students prior to their school day, rather than phoning the school.
  • Please make sure teachers are aware of any special arrangements with a note in the student agenda
  • If your family is planning a vacation during school time, please fill out a Parent Request to Excuse Student from Attendance at School form. and submit it to your child's teacher or to the office. Contact the office for this form
  • At Millgrove, we collect Spruce Grove McDonald's and Boston Pizza Receipts.  Your child  can bring in any receipts from these Spruce Grove Bussiness, then at the end of the school term they will provide a percentage of sales back to our school. Your support will be helping Millgrove Grove School, one receipt at a time!
  • Campbell Soup Labels are also collected by School Council throughout the year. With the collection of these labels Millgrove School Council as been able to provide many "tools for school", such as music instruments and gym equipment.
  • Please remember that no pets are permitted in the school building throughout the year. In June we have a Pet Parade morning held in the school yard. This is a great day for students to share a pet with their Millgrove friends.
  • Thank you to everyone for exercising patience in the parking lot, especially with our winter conditions.

2010-2011 Millgrove School Council welcomes everyone to their monthly meetings

Millgrove School Council meet every first Tuesday of the month in the library.

The Millgrove School Council is still looking to fill these two positions on the executive for the 2011/2012 school year. They are:

VICE CHAIRPERSON...This position is to run the meetings if the Chairperson is unable to attend.

MILK COORDINATOR...The Milk Program coordinator is responsible for running the school milk program, ordering milk and ensuring all the days are filled with volunteers.

Please contact Terri Morgenstern at morgenstern@airsurfer.ca if you are interested in volunteering for these positions. We are trying to do great things on this council for the students of Millgrove, and your help would be appreciated! Thanks to those that have already stepped up to be on our executive!

Millgrove School Community Foundation

Millgrove School Community Foundation meetings will no longer be held in conjunction with our regular Tuesday council meetings.  Instead, they will be called on an as needed basis.  Please watch the website for our next meeting date, time and location. Spellathon

Thank you to all of the families and friends who sponsored our students for this year's spellathon! The foundation raised over $15 000.00 for school items and events. Way to go Millgrove Families!

Galaxyland

Thanks to Ryan and Olive Upton for their efforts in making our annual Galaxyland Family night a success! Not only did we enjoy a fun evening, but we raised some money too!

Sandyview Farms

Thank you to this local business for their continued support of our Foundation! Watch for shopping days to begin again in the fall and remember to shop local this summer!

Milk Fridge

We would like to express our thanks to the families for their patience and understanding as we had to replace our milk fridge. The new one looks great and will provide our kids with milk for years to come!

Hot Lunch Program - A reminder to parents to send a full lunch if the busses do not run on a hot lunch day. We cannot guarantee that hot lunch will run on these days so please err on the side of caution and send enough food with your child.

Please review and discuss your child's Student Handbook 2010-2011

You will find the first six pages have useful information for parents and students.

We ask for your support with the School Rules by signing page five of the Student Handbook (Agenda) with your child. With your signing you are letting Millgrove School know that you agree to follow and support the School Rules.   

We have added some FAQ that were asked by parents in the past. Some of the information can be found in your child's Student Handbook (Agenda) indicated by page number in brackets. Other information has been linked to sites other than, as well as,  the Millgrove School web page.
